The image of Lord Bo Tien portrays the need to be atop and balance the polarities or dualities of life. We cannot have only yin or only yang but need to find the fine point of combination of yin and yang, sometimes more yin and sometimes more yang.. The left hand of the lord saint in salutation bids us to be ever mindful and steady to go for yin yang balance as depicted by the feet atop the elements. The scepter in right hand depicts the mission for yin yang balance for all

Below is reproduced from page 15 of the book LORD BO TIEN'S GUIDANCE published by Bo Tien Temple Singapore  6th Sept 2000.

It is obvious that it is written by the late Philip Png after 1984 and before 2000 and written under the guidance of  Lord Bo Tien representatives after the lord saint decided in 1984 that He would not descend to give any more message after 1984. But it is said that He will address the mission once more when there is oneness amongst men in His temple.

Below is effectively the summary of the doctrine of the lord saint and has to do with yin and yang.

The universe is made up of 5 elements, namely:- wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Just as these components are found in nature, our body also contains these five substances or elements.

The skeleton framework is the element of wood.
Our breath is the element of fire.
The flesh of the body is the earth.
In our blood cells, we will find iron compound (metal).
The blood and body fluids are the watery elements.

Lord Bo Tien  did not aspire to set up a new religion but to clarify the truth about religion. Bo Tien Temple's task is to merge and harmonize Taoism  with Buddhism; namely to bring closer all religions to understand one essential truth that there is only one God; to enlighten the people about their existence and the inner truth. Thus the nature of man can be drawn as follows:

The picture shows man's reunion with God
and that he has to go through
the Yin / Yang forces of the world

PS
The head depicts God.
The Root depicts human or man.
To be reunited with God man has to go through the Yin and Yang.
Right limb depicts Yang / Positive (Active)
and left limb depicts Yin / Negative (Passive)

A learned fengshui master and disciple of Ji Gong the Living Buddha sent this sms. The message has been abridged.

"Year 2013 is the year of Fire Snake in a Water Year. It is not a favorable year and fortune for 2013, both good and bad, is mysteriously like the snake."

"To block the mysterious bad omen, a fengshui Rooster to be placed at home would enhance good yin and yang balance to enhance better fortune and career."

In 1984, Lord Bo Tien towards the end of His Anniversary Message stressed on need for balance of forces and events in our life and environment. The way is to find the most optimum mix of events and forces in our life - the yin and yang. We need to have both yin and yang and achieve the harmony of yin and yang.

There must be counterbalancing to have the best outcome, to have the best peace that is more enduring even though all in the world we live in are transitory and imperfect.

Fengshui deals with harmony of yin and yang in our external space and spiritual way (Tao)  deals with the harmony of yin and yang in our mind - the internal space.

The paragraph below is from Historical version of 1984 birthday eve message of Lord Bo Tien Chor Choo at Philip's residence...

"He then points at the Octagon (Ba gua) which shows two fish-like symbols - The Yin and the Yang - and says it (octagon) signifies harmony and is not harmful to people. Both the Yin and the Yang should exist but if there is only one , then there is no harmony."

In 1980 message the lord said said that the image is His Doctrine and the Doctrine is in His Image. For the first time, He touched on the Yin and the Yang. Below is the paragraph from his message. Historical version of the 1980 anniversary message of Lord Bo Tien

"Next Lord Bo Tien went on to interpret His posture as carved. The sceptre He is holding represent firmness and durability. The left hand in prayer represents smooth sailing in all matters, also signifies determined heart, and sincerity in prayers, we will be able to get what we want. As His Image is dressed in a general (uni)form, do not mistaken Him to be a fierce General. Because in His Image, there are also His Doctrines. The chair on which the Image sits on signifies comfortability, in happy mood and steadiness. The armours He is wearing represent vitality, health and strength. The many colours of His Image represent the many races in this world. The two devils He stepped on represent the good and the bad in this world or the Yin and Yang forces of this world in which the mind is the main controller. In life we have to face these two forces once we are born, but once we are able to balance ourselves and walk the middle path, we will be able to control ourselves."
